August/September Week 1: Large Group

Phoneme: /b/

Song: Bouncy, Bouncy, Bouncy

Goals: What questions, articulation, body parts, high/low, fast/slow, top, down

For the end of August and all of September, we're practicing the letter B.  We use our pointer fingers to trace capital B while reciting "Start at the top and draw down.  Go back to the top and bounce around."

Let's sing the Bouncy Bouncy Bouncy song!  What should we bounce?  I chose to bounce my hands on my knees.  Some children chose to bounce their head, their feet, legs, elbows, nose, eyebrows, tongues, and their whole body.  The whole body was so popular that we bounced (jumped) many times!

Because there is a lot of repetition in the song (Bouncy, Bouncy, Bouncy; Ready, Set, Go!), our children with less language were able to participate.  Everyone had fun saying "Wait......Wait.......Ready......Set.....GO!"  We all took turns choosing which body part to bounce.
