This week we played a game called "Binoculars Up".  We pretended to hold binoculars up to our eyes and went on a hunt for different animals, birds, bugs, and fish around the room.  All the animals had a /g/ sound in their name.  If we put our fingers on our neck and make the /g/ sound, we can feel our throat tickle our fingers.

Binoculars up!

Out in the jungle...

What do I see?

I see a.....

Everyone walked all over the preschool classroom to find the different pictures.  If we didn't know what it was, teachers could help us.  Where does this animal live?  In the water?  On a farm? In the jungle?  In the ocean?  What sound does it make?  Sometimes we didn't know.

Afterwards, we gathered back at the rug and everyone had a turn to tell the class what they found.

DO THIS AT HOME:  Look at picture books of different animals, go to a farm, go to the zoo, or look around your neighborhood.  What animals can you find?  What sounds do they make?  Bonus points if the adults also use their "binoculars".
