I Like It! I Don't Like it!

Transition Song: The Gobble Gobble Song by Nooshi.

Vocabulary and Basic Concepts: What questions, like/don't like, labeling food items, thumbs up/thumbs down, hot/cold

This week, Miss Carrie brought a lot of pictures of foods.  There were fruits and vegetables.  There were breakfast foods and dinner foods. There were pictures of sweet treats.

We took turns showing our friends the pictures.  What is it? Do you like it?  We could say "I like it!" and give a thumbs up.  Or we could say "I don't like it!" and give a thumbs down.

Guess what we discovered?  It is okay if you like a food and others don't like it.  Miss Carrie said that she doesn't like peanut butter or peas.  Miss Carrie loves tomatoes, popcorn, and french fries.  Miss Kazia doesn't like jello, but she does like chicken noodle soup.  Miss Jeana doesn't like tomatoes, but she does like peanut butter.

Miss Carrie keeps tasting food she doesn't like in case she changes her mind.

DO THIS AT HOME:  this is great conversation for the dinner table.  What do you like?  What don't you like? Did you ever not like something that you like now?  did you change your mind? Practice labeling the foods that you eat.
