This week, Miss Carrie said that she noticed that some of the kids talk about people at home.  So she showed a slide show of everyone's families.  Some people had more family members and some had less.  We talked about Who was in the picture, Where they were, and sometimes even What they were doing.  Some families had a new baby.  Some families were doing an activity. We even saw the families of our teachers.  It was so much fun to look at the pictures and talk about them. We had so much language going on.

Then, Miss Carrie brought out a big piece of paper and crayons.  We could draw our families and talk about them.  We talked about who lived at our house.  Some families had grandparents living with them.  Some families had nannies.  Some families had pets. Some people had uncles or aunts living with them.

DO THIS AT HOME:  Pull out your family pictures.  Talk about who is in the photo, where they were, and what they were doing.  Talk about action words (EX: swimming, walking), any celebrating that was happening, how many people are in the picture (Count them!).  Consider pulling out paper and drawing together as a family. If you can, put paper on the floor and lay on your tummy to draw (which is great for occupational therapy).
